Julio Chavez’s farm reflects this connection between tradition, nature, and coffee. Located beneath Choqesafra mountain near Inkawasi, the farm benefits from mineral-rich volcanic soils and a diverse ecosystem of native trees, pines, birds, parrots, and toucans. Julio works with organic compost from his cooperative and follows the Andean principles of Ayni and Minka, which emphasize reciprocity, mutual support, and collective community effort.

His farming practices protect the land, strengthen community bonds, and honor the legacy of his Inca ancestors. With a commitment to sustainability and coffee excellence, Julio hopes to continue improving his coffee and one day achieve first place in the Cup of Excellence.
